Budget Drains Nottingham is a local drainage firm based in Hucknall. We are not a national call centre passing your job to whoever is nearest - when you ring, you get us, and the engineer who comes out works for us.

Most of our work comes from Nottingham and the surrounding towns: Arnold, Hucknall, Mansfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Sutton-in-Ashfield, and we cover Derby, Ilkeston and Heanor as well.

We work for householders, landlords, letting agents and commercial sites, and we run planned maintenance contracts for businesses that would rather not think about their drains at all.

Drainage is the whole of our business rather than a sideline to plumbing. We handle drain unblocking, sink and toilet unblocking, drain cleaning and maintenance, CCTV drain surveys, drain repairs, relining, new drain installation, drainage channels and guttering.

New drainage is laid to Building Regulations Approved Document H, water-tested before the trench is closed, and handed over with as-built drawings, test certificates and a photographic record.

We also do emergency work. We aim to reach you within the hour and meet that on the large majority of call-outs.

Every engineer is fully trained, insured and DBS checked. That last one matters more than it sounds: drainage work means someone coming into your home, often at short notice and sometimes when you are not there. A DBS check is a straightforward thing for a firm to do, and most drainage companies do not mention it at all.

We are insured for the work we carry out. We do not hold trade-body memberships or industry accreditations, and we would rather say so plainly than imply otherwise - plenty of firms display badges that mean less than they look like they do.

We own our kit rather than hiring it in, which is why we can usually deal with a problem on the first visit.

That includes a vehicle fleet carrying jetting equipment and CCTV cameras, thermal imaging and acoustic leak detection for finding leaks a camera cannot see, sonde and locator equipment for tracing and plotting unmapped runs, a gutter vacuum for clearing guttering from the ground, and tanker access for larger clearance jobs.

Survey findings are graded using the industry-standard WRc classification, so a report from us can be compared with the last one rather than read as an opinion.

We quote a fixed price on the phone once we know what the job is, and we hold it. Quoting is free and there is no call-out charge, so you are not paying for us to turn up and look.

If we get on site and find the job is different from what was described, we stop and talk to you before doing anything else. We stand behind our workmanship.

Where a fault turns out to sit on a Severn Trent length rather than your own pipework, we will tell you and you can report it to them at no cost. We would rather lose the job than charge you for a repair that is not yours to pay for.

We hold a five-star rating, and we have never had a bad review. We also do not chase people for reviews, so the total is lower than it could be. The ones we have were left by people who chose to.
